In 1992 I was given 3 concurrent life sentences for 3 counts of aggravated assault in The Arizona Department of corrections. After 28 years in prison on February 18th, 2020, right before the Covid-19 Pandemic, I was released. When I was young, I used to run the streets bangin’ Bloods and hustlin’ trying to make money with the rest of my homboys! Until one evening while I was driving by a park, a group of rival gang members flashed a gun at my car. I unloaded round after round into the group of people. 3 people were shot including a four-year-old little girl. For that dangerous and reckless act I was given 3 concurrent life sentences. But REDEMTION was GOD's plan.

While serving my life sentences I began to study a lot of financial educational materials, approximately over 500 financial books. These books varied from Suze Orman, Robert Kiyosaki, William J O’Neil, Warren Buffett, Edwin Lefevre and many others. There was a common theme about every one of these individuals who had accomplished great financial feats. The way they “thought” about money was different than the thinking of a person who has very little or no money. They knew that “Rich people think in terms of abundance; poor people think in terms of scarcity.” This highlights the mindset difference that often distinguishes those who achieve wealth from those who struggle financially.

12 years into my prison sentence I began financially educating groups of inmates on Entity formations, Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds, Taxes (personal and business), and the many financial strategies I learned from the books that I was studying. I taught in day rooms, classrooms, and on rec fields of various prison yards. For over 16 years I taught financial concepts. I have literally taught inmates how to incorporate their own business entities, buy and hold quality stocks while writing covered call contracts. I have taught in the darkest places imaginable. From solitary confinement to teaching through the prison ventilation system. Inmates would sell their commissary boxes in order to save money just to be able to fund brokerage accounts through their families on the outside so they can begin trading over the blue collect call phones. Some used illegal cell phones. I have formed LLC’s, S Corp’s, and Partnerships from the prison libraries and have shown many how to do their own taxes out of the free tax guides that the IRS provides. And I, myself have also gained a different education, which was the experience of teaching!
